Fitness: Love Yourself, by Sandra O’Brien

As a personal trainer, I have had hundreds of conversations with people about their bodies. Particularly how they are unhappy, frustrated, and sometimes even disgusted with their bodies. The ability to love oneself seems to be a lost art. Most are so very quick to judge how they look and their ability or inability to stay focused on goals.

Your body and energy levels are a result of what you have eaten, the workouts you have done and your mindset about your worth over the past several months, and maybe even years. There is nothing and no one with whom to find fault. If you are not happy with your body and energy levels, change your actions and you will create a new version of yourself. Love the body you now have; you created it, after all. Your body is what your soul uses to get the work done it came here to do. Not loving your body and yourself does nothing to serve you, nor those around you. If you are not able to unconditionally love yourself, how can you expect others to do so? How are you going to find it possible to love others unconditionally if you judge yourself? Read more Here

Friendship

“Friendship takes time and energy if it’s going to work. You can luck into something great, but it doesn’t last if you don’t give it proper appreciation. Friendship can be so comfortable, but nurture it – don’t take it for granted.”

Actress and Comedian

Joy

For some, joy is happiness. Is a joy happiness? We would say is a no. Joy is different than happiness in that happiness is a form of transitory, emotional experience in reaction to external stimuli. Joy is not reaction. Joy is a state of being. [...] Happiness comes and goes. Joy is a non-transitory experience due to external stimuli. We would say, in some way joy is a more interesting state, for in joy there is the opportunity to experience compassion, to experience the nature of reality, to experience a true state of abundance, the true human destiny of being: wisdom compassion. In this way, joy is an experience beyond form. Joy is an experience when the human has found an experiential state not attached to form.

Developing a New Mindset is the Key to Having it All

Committing to a daily workout, minimum of four days a week, is key. What is the one sure way to ensure you do that? You must reprogram your mind. You must stop seeing yourself as someone who is on a diet, “trying “ to lose weight, fat, or pounds. Let’s say you are a non-smoker, on your way to the store to buy a magazine. You do not think before going to the store, “I hope I can avoid the temptation to buy cigarettes.” No, you see yourself as a non-smoker. The thought of buying cigarettes does not enter your mind when you are in the store.  Read more here

Fitness: Recovery from Overindulgence

The season of overindulgence has passed. You survived or you wouldn’t be reading this. How much damage was done is open to perception. Did you go for seconds at the family events? Did you fill up on potatoes, gravy, pies and bread? Or were you tipping the elbow? If you enjoyed both food and drink with wild abandonment, you are not alone! No need to feel guilty or be hard on yourself when you need to squeeze your butt and thighs into your pants. You had an awesome time, I hope, and now you simply have a few things to do to stop feeling like a sloth. Read more here

What if today….

What if today you started  to become FULLY aware of how much you have to offer everyone and every situation
you encounter? What if today, you shared your thoughts in a meeting, in a personal conversation knowing it
would benefit another? What if you voiced your thoughts you normally would hold back
because you think it has no value?
It has value. Your words, your presence, has more value than you can imagine.  Make it so.
What others think of it is not your concern.
I want you to connect to the possibility that what you have to say is important.  Even if it doesn’t seem so
at the time. Know that it benefits someones life, even if you are not aware of it.
Time has come to step up and make a difference every day in someones life, in your life.
Start today.  It will feel good :)

You have an opportunity…

….You have an opportunity this day to really affect

someone’s life for the better.  Watch for it.

Someone is needing something from you, and they are

going to come right to you to get it.  Someone–friend

or stranger, I don’t know–will cross your path in the

hours ahead, looking for the most important gift you

can give them: uplift for the soul.

Your job: return them to themselves.  Find a way to

allow them to feel good about themselves again.  Just

a word, or a smile, can do it.  You’ll know what’s

needed it the moment!

Steve Jobs – Inspiration at it’s best

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Steve Jobs
